Vicky Wu

Soprano

Hu Sui-qian graduated from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts where she studied with the famous soprano Nguyen Miu-fan. She studied vocal music at the Mozart International Summer Music Academy in Salzburg and the Savonlinna Music Academy in Finland with Helen Donath and Helene Schneiderman. Wu has participated in many major opera productions during her studies, including the Hong Kong premier of Mozart's first opera, Ninneda in "Silent Seal", Gennata in "L'Amore", Barbarina in "The Marriage of Figaro", Vraschitta and Mercedes in "Carmen". Wu also played important roles in the Academy's opera productions in 2021 and 2022, singing Elaktra in "Idomeneo" and Santosha in "Cavalleria Rusticana". After graduation Wu sang Santosha in in "Cavalleria Rusticana" at the Hanoi Opera House. In addition to opera productions, Wu is an active concert performer, including Beethoven's Choral Fantasy and Mayara Variations with the Academy Chinese Orchestra.
