Julian Yim
Violinist
Julian Yim is a violinist well experienced in solo, chamber and orchestral music. He had given concerts and performed in numerous cities including Beijing, London, Taipei, Brno, Bratislava, and Yetkaterinburg. He holds a master degree in violin performance at Montclair State University under the tutelage of Professor Yiwen Jiang. In addition, He studied with Professor Avi Nagin from the Juilliard School, chamber music performance with the Shanghai Quartet and the Zorá Quartet. Yim had become an active and energetic performer since his study at Hong Kong Baptist University and appeared at Hong Kong Arts Festival, Busan Music Festival, and EURASIA festival where he was given the Young Artist Award. He was also appointed co-concertmaster at Eastern Music Festival. In such occasions he shared the stage with accomplished violinists Vadim Repin, Anne Akiko Meyers, and Joshua Bell. Apart from the classsical musical scene, Yim has involved in motion picture soundtrack production as well as several released local pop music. In recent years, Yim was appointed the concertmaster at MSU symphony orchestra. He also led the Hong Kong Youth Strings, Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Collegium Musicum Hong Kong. He is currently a member of Gustav Mahler Orchestra Hong Kong as well as the faculty at New Jersey Paterson Music Project.
